The website aims to communicate the value of SMEs to the European economy, specifically in the highly diverse food and drink sector with 287,000 companies, 99.1% of which are food and drink SMEs.
FoodDrinkEurope works on behalf of SMEs and aims to develop the competitiveness of Europe’s food and drink industry by putting a special emphasis on the specific needs of SMEs as regards to;
- Simplifying policies,
- Reducing administrative burdens in food science, health and nutrition, competitiveness and environmental sustainability,
- Improving access to finance,
- Developing research programmes,
- Facilitating SME access to international markets.
