Paris, 21 October - Quality and food safety in an enlarged Europe was the main theme of the conference organised by the CIAA on 21 October, at the SIAL 2002 (Salon international de l'Alimentation). Addressing representatives from the Commission and candidate countries, the food and drink industry recalled the importance of the enlargement aspects related to food safety and of the role of the industry in the implementation of European legislation on the ground.
