Nutrition and health were the main topics of the 2004 Congress of the Confederation of the food and drink industries of the EU, �Food Futures � Eating well, Feeling good� which closed on Friday October 1. To debate the issue, the CIAA invited key speakers from the EU Institutions, the scientific world, consumer organisations, retailers and the food and drink industry. More than 400 delegates, representing a wide range of stakeholders, attended. In the exhibition area, 30 companies and food industry federations from the enlarged EU showed concrete examples of programmes to promote healthy lifestyles and contribute to better nutrition.
