In the last few years, the candidate countries had to
integrate into their national legislation a complex array
of legal initiatives developed in the field of agriculture
and food. Legislation in this field represents more than
half of the entire Community Acquis. Considerable pieces
of legislation were adopted in the EU in recent years,
which completed and modified the existing regulations
and directives.
It is not always easy for companies in current Member
States, and consequently for companies in new Member
States, to find their way in the existing legislation
and to follow the development of new regulations or
directives. To help them, the CIAA has developed a status
report of the EU food law. This tool is published on
a CD-Rom and updated three times a year. It will help
you to follow the whole legislative process from the
elaboration of a text by the Commission up to its entry
into force.
