The Alliance for a Competitive European Industry has called on the European Union legislative institutions and Member States to ensure swift implementation of concrete measures to strengthen the long-term competitiveness of industry in the EU and thereby the prosperity of the EU economies. The Alliance, of which CIAA is a member, strongly supports the European Commission`s initiative to develop a new EU industrial policy designed to provide the right framework conditions for enterprise development and to foster innovation, taking into account the specific characteristics of the various manufacturing sectors. Its members emphasise the need for coherent and mutually supportive competitiveness, energy and environmental policies. On the occasion of the workshop, the Alliance issued a statement and brochure containing illustrative cases of concrete issues facing European industry today.
As Alliance member, CIAA highlighted three cases in the brochure: the first dealing with Innovation, Research & Development, the second relating to Reducing Administrative Burdens, and the third examining how to Reverse the downward trend in International Trade. Click here to read the case studies
